I guided fishing trips in the bay for many years and still do but offshore was always another passion I loved doing. Every chance I had between bay trips and when it was calm enough I would venture out around the jetties trolling for Kingfish in my bay boat and as I got more comfortable started running further out and hitting different wrecks fishing for Red Snapper and Ling(Cobia).
Since then I have purchased a bigger offshore boat to go along with my bay boat and switched over primarily to Offshore Fishing. It’s a thrill to me to be trolling along and all of a sudden the clickers on the reels start screaming. You never really know what your going to catch offshore, that’s what I love about it the most, along with the size of the fish usually being much bigger than in the bay. Most of my trips are less than 9 miles off the beach, trolling for Kingfish, Bonita, Spanish mackerel and bottom fishing for Red Snapper. I am one of the very few charter boats around able to catch and keep Red Snapper year round.
I also do trips out deeper, 20-40 miles, for bigger game fish like Dorado(Mahi Mahi), Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Sailfish and Blue Marlin.
